Parts finished to the micron.
BuildCraft machines, fabricates and assembles high-precision components for medical, aerospace and horology clients — from a single prototype to validated production runs, all under one roof in Switzerland.

One workshop, the full process chain.
Design-for-manufacture review, machining, finishing, metrology and assembly — coordinated by the same team, so tolerances hold from drawing to delivery.
5-Axis CNC Machining
Milling and turning of aluminium, titanium, stainless and engineering plastics on simultaneous 5-axis centres.
Sheet-Metal Fabrication
Fibre-laser cutting, press braking and TIG welding for enclosures, brackets and structural assemblies.
Precision Assembly
Cleanroom-grade sub-assembly, bonding and torque-controlled fastening of multi-part mechanisms.
Metrology & Inspection
CMM and optical measurement with full SPC documentation and first-article reports on every batch.
Review
We pressure-test your drawing for manufacturability and lock tolerances before a chip is cut.
Machine
Programmed once, proven on a first article, then run on monitored, temperature-stable centres.
Finish
Deburring, anodising, passivation and coating handled in-house to protect the geometry.
Verify
Every dimension that matters is measured, logged and shipped with its inspection record.
Trusted where tolerance is non-negotiable.
The components we make end up inside instruments that cannot afford to be off.
Medical Devices
Surgical instrument parts and implant components held to validated, documented tolerances.
Aerospace
Lightweight structural and actuation parts machined from titanium and aerospace alloys.
Horology
Micro-components for Swiss watchmaking — where a few microns decide whether it ticks.
Send the drawing. We'll send a quote.
Upload a STEP file or a sketch on a napkin — our engineers will come back with feasibility, lead time and price.
A small Swiss shop with an obsession for tolerance.
Founded in 2008 on the shore of Lake Brienz, BuildCraft grew from a single milling machine into a full-process precision manufacturer — and never lost the habit of measuring twice.
We believe a part is only as good as the last micron you can prove.
Our customers don't ask whether a part looks right — they ask whether it measures right. That's why metrology sits at the centre of everything we do, not at the end. Every job leaves the floor with a record of exactly what it is, traceable to the drawing it came from. It is unglamorous discipline, and it is the whole point.

Measure, then claim
If we can't verify it on a CMM, we don't put it on a spec sheet.
- 02
Own the whole chain
Machining, finishing and assembly in one building means no tolerance lost at a hand-off.
- 03
Swiss steady
Stable processes, trained people, and the patience that precision actually requires.

Bönigen Works
Sixteen years, one direction.
Tighter tolerances, broader processes, the same shop floor.
One machine, one promise
BuildCraft opens with a single CNC mill and a commitment to ship nothing it can't measure.
Five axes
First simultaneous 5-axis centre arrives, opening complex geometries for medical clients.
Metrology lab
A climate-controlled CMM room makes full inspection records standard on every order.
Finishing in-house
Anodising and passivation move under our own roof, closing the last hand-off.
Cleanroom assembly
An ISO-8 assembly cell lets us deliver validated sub-assemblies, not just parts.
Why Bönigen?
The Bernese Oberland has built precision instruments for generations. We're surrounded by suppliers, toolmakers and trained machinists who treat a tenth of a millimetre as a serious number. Sitting between the lake and the workshops of Interlaken keeps us close to the people and the standards that made Swiss manufacturing mean something.
Bring us the part that keeps failing.
The tighter the tolerance, the more we want to see the drawing.
Everything a precision part needs, in one place.
Six in-house disciplines, sequenced so your tolerances survive every step from raw stock to packed crate.
5-Axis CNC Machining
Simultaneous milling and turning of complex geometries in aluminium, titanium, stainless and engineering plastics.
Sheet-Metal Fabrication
Fibre-laser cutting, CNC press braking and welding for enclosures, frames and structural assemblies.
Surface Finishing
Anodising, passivation, bead-blasting and coating handled in-house to protect both surface and dimension.
Precision Assembly
Cleanroom-grade bonding, pressing and torque-controlled fastening of multi-component mechanisms.
Prototyping & DFM
Rapid first articles plus a design-for-manufacture review that catches problems before tooling.
Metrology & QA
CMM and optical inspection with SPC data, first-article reports and full material traceability.
Materials we cut every day.
If it can be measured, we can probably machine it.
Aluminium Alloys
Light, fast to cut and dimensionally stable — our workhorse for housings and brackets.
Titanium
Strength-to-weight for aerospace and medical, machined with the patience it demands.
Stainless Steel
Corrosion-resistant grades for instruments, fittings and food-safe applications.
Brass & Copper
Conductive and free-machining alloys for electrical and horology components.
Engineering Plastics
PEEK, POM and PTFE for low-friction, non-conductive and biocompatible parts.
Tool & Spring Steel
Hardened and tempered grades for wear surfaces, dies and high-cycle mechanisms.
The numbers behind the work.

That's exactly the call we like.
Send the geometry and we'll tell you honestly what's possible — and how to get there.
Where our parts end up.
Six industries that share one demand: parts that perform exactly as drawn, every single time.
Medical Devices
Surgical and implantable components with documented, validated tolerances and full traceability.
Aerospace
Structural, actuation and bracket parts in titanium and aerospace-grade aluminium.
Horology
Sub-millimetre micro-components for Swiss watch movements and cases.
Robotics & Automation
Precision joints, housings and end-effector parts for motion systems.
Clean Energy
Components for fuel cells, sensors and instrumentation built to last in the field.
Scientific Instruments
Optical mounts and mechanical assemblies for labs and metrology equipment.

Tell us what your part has to survive.
Heat, vibration, sterilisation, microns — we design the process around the duty.
Send the drawing. Start the conversation.
Tell us about the part, the volume and the tolerance that matters. An engineer — not a form bot — reads every request.
